BYTAVI Summer Try-on Review

Since I’ve heard that these try-on posts are super helpful when considering a new slow fashion company I’m sharing a BYTAVI Summer try-on today. I chose 6 pieces from their collection that I plan to wear all Summer and into Fall.

BYTAVI is an ethical clothing company that works to empower women in Cambodia. They pay living wages, provide safe working conditions, allow for regular breaks, vacations & no forced extra hours. BYTAVI trains vulnerable women at risk for human trafficking to sew and create their small batch clothing line. They even provide food and some of the women make lunch each day for the team – how awesome is that?

1. Sunday Posey Dress

The first thing on my wish list was the Sunday Posey Dress. It has the sweetest floral print and is made from a lightweight, flowy fabric. I’m really happy with the length on my 5’7″ frame – not too short. I think it would also fit my petite friends quite well without being too long. Best news: this dress has pockets!

I’m wearing size small because I have a smaller bust and the skirt part of the dress has a soft A-line. I love the elastic waistband that defines my waist. If you have a bigger top than bottom I would suggest you size up vs. down in this dress. I think I could’ve also worn a Medium for a slightly longer length or if I wanted extra room on top.

2. and 3. Rose Swing Tank & Blossoms Midi Skirt

First, the Rose Swing Tank is sustainably made with recycled ribbed knit fabric. I love the texture that makes it a better than basic tank. It’s loose, flowy and soft. I’m wearing my usual size and it’s a great fit.

And now for the Blossoms Midi skirt! If I was going to choose just one skirt for Spring, Summer and early Fall this would be it. All of the colors in the print make it so versatile and easy to pair with a ton of tops. The soft pleats hide wrinkles – for those of us who tend to get dressed in a hurry.

I stuck with my true size in the skirt and I really like the fit. It has elastic in the back of the waistband so it’s easy to fit over my hips/booty area (a very important detail). The fabric is lightweight for warm weather.

Length fit: My friend who is petite also wore this skirt and the longer length was great on her as well. It was fun to see it on another body & look so good.

4. Black Boatneck Tee

In the midst of all the fun color and prints I also wanted to try a classic piece from BYTAVI so I went with the Black Boatneck Tee. It’s sustainably made from recycled cotton, soft and has some stretch to it. I find the neckline to be so flattering and like how it elevates a basic tee. The fit is true to size and once again I’m wearing my usual size.

5. Olive Wide Leg Pants

These are the perfect hot day pants. We all have those days in the Summer when we don’t want to wear shorts, but it’s too hot for jeans. These are the pants I’ll be reaching for over and over. Sustainably made from recycled rayon, I sized up for a loose, flowy fit. I think I could’ve been fine in my usual size, but just wanted to be sure. I feel like I’m wearing my pj’s in these, but look very chic and put together.

6. Copper Vine Reversible Blouse

The reversible blouse is my favorite top style from BYTAVI. I have one from last Spring as well. They updated the sizing this year so the fit is now true to size (previously ran small). I love that you can wear it with the buttons in front or back. Also, I’m loving the orangey reds this year & think this blouse will wear well into Fall layered under a denim jacket or blazer.
