5 Ways to Style A Denim Jacket

The denim jacket is the ultimate, classic completer piece – add it to just about any outfit and you are good to go! It never goes out of style. Today I’m sharing 5 ways to style a denim jacket.

Full disclosure: In the middle of taking my photos for this post my daughter broke my tripod, so mirror selfies it is!

Sizing notes: I’m 5’7″. I wear a size 6 or 28 on bottom and size small on top. My jacket was thrifted – maybe the best $4 thrift find ever!

Jewelry: all of my jewelry is from Sela Designs. I’ll tag the earrings in each photo, but I’m wearing the same three necklaces: Known (with my kids’ intials), Elle, and Flora.

Gosh I love this outfit. So classic. That bandanna scarf is just the right detail to pull all of the colors together. All of my favorite colors pulled together in one outfit.

This is the perfect outfit combo for Spring & Fall! Ditch the jacket in warm afternoons and put it back on in the evening. Comfy & cute – win-win.

Cute Toddler & Black Jeans

And now you see the tripod is gone! Good thing the culprit is so darn cute. She wanted to match me with her own thrifted denim jacket.

And for the outfit: these new straight leg jeans from Warp + Weft are the bomb! Holy cow, talk about comfortable. The sizing is generous IMO. I’m wearing my usual size 28 and have plenty of room. I like the looser fit in the straight size vs. fitted and skinny. And the off-black color is something I didn’t have so I’m giving these an A+ for sure!

If you follow me on Instagram you know I shared this dress was part of a sample sale from Liz Alig. I love Liz Alig’s dedicated sustainability and ethics in how their clothes are made.

Their sizing is different on each style, so be sure to always check their size charts for each item. I’m wearing this dress in size small. I am naturally smaller in the waist and this is definitely a more snug fit on me.

And really, how great is a denim jack with a dress for Spring? So good.

So this is my go-to outfit for a Midwest Spring aka extension of Winter! I love, love, love this lightweight sweater from the Tradlands Spring Collection. I’ve been wearing it maybe 3xs a week!

The Jude Pullover as it’s called is breathable but still cozy for cooler Spring temps. I have a size small and I love the over-sized fit. If you want it to be fitted, size down. Use code ASHLEIGH10 for 10% off your first purchase. You can thank me later. 🙂

Where would we be if I left out my all time favorite joggers? No where! That’s were. Haha! I love how comfortable these jogger pants are, but look super nice & put together. It’s the ultimate combo for a work from home Mom.

I’m wearing the joggers in size small. They’ve been washed many, many times in the last year and still look like new. You can see 7 more ways I styled them here.

TRUTH: I meant to throw on a graphic tee with the outfit, but was throw off my the broken tripod and an iphone that quit working. #momlife
